For years the people of a small English coastal town have relied on their trusty local bank. Everyone knew one another and would chat over tea and biscuits as they lazily went about their affairs.

All this is torn away as the branch is taken over by Ameribank, a vast, crass, conglomerate. Gone are the niceties as soulless efficiency and hard profit targets become the order of the day.

The regular local customers who for years have banked on favours are suddenly shut out in the cold.
