Raza Mallal is a prolific writer, director, award - winning filmmaker and university lecturer. Recognised in "UK Asian's of The Millennium".

Raza worked for Sonatron Video Services from 1985 to 1987. After graduating with the Diploma in TV Production from London, he joined Hibiscus Productions Ltd as a director till 1993 before moving on to Premiere Productions of Bradford where he wrote, produced and directed numerous programmes and films from community to broadcast level for BBC TV, Channel 4, Central TV, where he remained until 1998 ----when he set up his own production company Eyeline Productions which enabled him to diversify into other areas of the media industry.
His 16mm film's "Easy Money, "Checkmate" and "Dogs Best Friend" have received international awards including the Bronze Dragon in Cracow, Jury Grand Prize, Amiens and Prix De la Salamander, France. His short youth drama "Chakkar" was screened on Channel 4 to much acclaim. Raza has also written a 6 episode drama "Sparks" for Yorkshire TV. He wrote "Knots In The Wood" a 12 episode animation series produced by Cosgrove Hall. Raza has produced and worked on numerous independent films and videos. He was senior lighting camera-person for "Wishbone" featuring Rik Mayall, and "Drumming Monkey" with Richard Wilson. In 1991 Raza was commissioned by Hull Artworks to write and direct a period drama on Humberside - "Gift From The Sea". He has undertaken critically acclaimed commissions for the West Yorkshire Playhouse to produce video installations. He has been engaged for script development work by Lenny Henry. In 1992 he directed the Bosnian aid music video. He was responsible for writing and directing "Concern Into Action" the widely distributed drugs prevention film for the Home Office. He was 1st Ad on the film 35mm film "Wilfred" which was in competition at the Cannes Film Festival and 1st AD on the award winning 35mm film "Does God Play Football". After directing a series of Tv magazine programmes for NTL. He co-wrote and directed the much acclaimed comedy "Guns Thums & Movie Massala"
Raza is actively involved in media education and has tutored film and video production at all levels in numerous institutions. He has taught Camera, Lighting and Scriptwriting for Hall Place Studios and Leeds Metropolitan University. In 2004 he was commissioned by The British Council to teach film production overseas. He has recently completed an engagement as a production tutor on "The Vision On Project" for Eyecatcher Productions. In 2005 he co-wrote and directed 30 drama films for ESB and completed writing the feature film "Quick Slip Me A Bride". He is presently directing a Gardening Programme for satellite television.
