The film was awarded the Bronze Dragon at the 1990 Cracow International Film Festival in Poland, Jury Special Prize at Waterloss and Le Prix De Salamander in France, and a star rating in Montreal. A modern day fairytale, shot on location in Bradford. This challenging drama depicts the engaging and moving story of an Asian college girl caught up in the conflict of the two cultures she lives in. She is distracted and attracted to a Western lifestyle but her family's demands are that she adheres to traditional values. It may sound like the same old story but I assure you it is not.

The film was nominated for camera, script and direction at the Asian Film Academy Awards.
